En passant day 13: Crossing the border

Pierefitte-Nestalas -- Argeles-Gazost - Col du Soloir (1474m) -Arthez d'Asson - Louvir Jouzon - Col du Pourtalet (1794m)- Biescas. 125km or so

Col D'Aubisque (1709m) seen from the Col du Soloir.  Closed until June or so and then only offering one way traffic - east-west until 1230 and west to east from 1300. No access after 2000! Still a favourite for Tour de France itineraries.

 

The highest shepherds' houses in the Val d'Ouzon. Few signs of life here yet

 

 We don't see the likes of you round these ways very often..

 The once almost submerged (by a dam project) village of Lanuza, now largely reclaimed by local persistence
