Ob-la-do,ob-la da

My balcony boxes have given me a great deal of pleasure this summer. I've learned how to keep a steady supply of geranium and marigold flowers to brighten my day. And I've kept a steady stream of herbs: parsley, mint, chives, coriander, oregano, thyme, tarragon and basil in easy access of my kitchen. A small achievement - but for a while my world became very small. One day I found a grasshopper hiding among the geraniums and wondered how it found its way onto my balcony.
