Food on the Table
This week is designated as the Week van de Smaak - not the time when all the spanking clubs have their conventions but rather the week of taste. To get in the spirit I go dig out my Nigel Slater (Kichen Diaries) and check out a few seasonal recipes - cross check with the contents of my fruit and veg box then head for the spice shop and organic butchers to fill in the missing ingredients. My kitchen is going to be humming with new recipes again this week. Eet smaakelijk!!

Will try to do that. Week van smaak is a national intiative. I'm just getting into the spirit of it.

BTW last night I had the pork ribs with anise and oyster sauce (#10 or so on the list). Important to buy quality (i.e. organic or free range) pork though. I put some par- boiled potatoes and carrots in with the pork for the last five minutes to soak up the juices and had a small salad of half a celery and some small cubes of blue cheese - just to eat out what was left in the fridge. Yum
