I had a ‘Robert Plant Moment’ last night. Perhaps I should explain. I used to live in a part of Wales where Robert Plant is a major landowner. There is a story, more than ten years old (and possibly apocryphal) about him visiting the local wholefood shop on one of his (very occasional) visits to his 'manor'. He took a shine to the girl working behind the counter, and asked her back to his place. ‘So who do you think are’ she said. I’m Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin’ he replied. ‘Oh yes me mam used to play some of your records.’
Last night I had a few friends over for supper – it was a very spontaneously arranged affair - I called around a few friends in the afternoon 'do you fancy a quiet night in eating, talking and drinking?' It fell into place quickly. Sometime in the evening Nico came on ‘the jukebox’. One of my guests, a pretty Spanish woman (in her late twenties?) started singing along with it. ‘How do you know this stuff?’ I asked. ‘Me “mam” has it all. Ouch! Note to self – must find a way to align with women who are - shall I say - more of my age.
But it gave me a good excuse to watch this
