Yep - its back to blogs that quote songs.
It's getting dirty and gritty in Brussels.
The days are hot and so I want my windows open. But my quarter is a bit of a reconstruction site at the moment. The drilling, sirens and car alarms can be get to be quite annoying. But it could be worse if I had a different occupation. The council are placing street paving (the traditional small flat cobblestones) on the corner of my street. Compressing them all to a flat surface generates a lot of noise and dust. The shop owner on the corner was very pissed off today with clouds of sand and dust drifting across his displays of fruits and vegetables (not to mention the noise).
I have a desire to spend a week where the only sounds I hear are those of birdsong and running water (or waves). Actually I also want to see the Mediterranean light - too but that's a call too far at such short notice. So, weather permitting, this weekend is a toss up between the Belgian coast and the Ardennes.
