Benefits in Buddhism

Practicing Buddhism brings two different of benefit: conspicuous and inconspicuous. The first is what generally motivates people to start chanting: for a new job, lover, success in ones work or business, whatever. These are the types of things that we think of as important, nay central to our happiness, as the lack of them causes us real suffering. Often these things do arrive but then they bring new problems in their wake or are not the solution that we envisaged and we become disappointed again. That's the time that one starts to realise the importance of inconspicuous benefits- of building a stronger sense of self worth, an acceptance of how one's world is and a determination to be happy within it while working to improve it and to become a useful and valued person. This is the true benefit of practising Buddhism as it makes one a happier and stronger person.
