Morning calls
The blue tit that I wrote about recently has not returned to my balcony for a few week and morning calls have become a more intrusive. I have a new neighbour (see photo). She arrived in the area about three weeks ago with a special convoy. At first I thought nothing of it until the next Monday morning at 7.15 when the first thuds of the pile driver hit in, shaking the walls and foundations. For those with an interest in engineering this may be an event of some interest - but for the rest of the neighbourhood it can only be described as an unwelcome intrusion. Unfortunately for me this engineering wonder is installed almost equidistant between my flat and my office. So I get woken by it in the morning and then have to keep my office windows closed during the day. Still they could be working nights too.
